About the Event

Join us for a joyful and meaningful day exploring Ukrainian Easter traditions.
In this hands-on workshop, we will delve into two cherished Ukrainian customs: the making of Krashanky and Pysanky—traditional Easter eggs that hold deep cultural and spiritual significance.
Krashanky are eggs dyed using natural methods, such as onion skins, symbolizing new life and rebirth. Pysanky, the more intricate of the two, are created using a wax-resist technique, layering symbolic designs and vibrant colors to convey blessings, protection, and hope.
Throughout the day, you’ll learn about the history, symbolism, and techniques behind these beautiful expressions of faith and artistry. We will also take time for quiet reflection and share in a few traditional prayers from the Eastern Christian tradition.
You’ll leave the Centre feeling inspired, spiritually refreshed, and carrying your own beautifully decorated Easter eggs. All supplies will be provided.
